Each review score is between 1– To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. thisisnl.nl property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. thisisnl.nl will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

United States of AmericaHad issue at front desk checking in and out. Clerk Anita was very rude. Asked for early check in, per express check in machine the fee for early check in was $10 which had no issue. Went to front desk to check in. Anita advised the fee was $ I said the machine said it was $ In a rude manner she replied, “that was wrong”. Had no issue paying the $15 since we were looking forward to getting to the room. We got to room to find electrical outlets were very limited. Doesn’t seem they have updated the room for electronic devices at the section of the hotel we booked. I have a sleep apnea machine and the were no available outlets next to the bed. I called the front desk and was advised someone would come up with an extestion cord. I thought that was old fashion but accepted that resolution. Before maintenance came to the room I was able to figure out a resolution. To avoid an unnecessary trip for the maintenance man I called the front desk back. I advised I called for someone who was going to bring an extension cord. Before I can say I didn’t need them anymore the person who answered said “it can 45 minutes. Again the persons tone was rude. Finally checking out I had a question about the bill. I saw the person who helped me during check in was there. I was hoping I wouldn’t be asked to her but she was available before the other clerk was. I asked her for an explanation of the bill I received at checkout. It looked as I was being charged 2x’s for my one night stay. I advised I booked through thisisnl.nl and was already billed. She said that was a deposit. I was very confused. She circled the amount on bill that was $ I was still confused because BOOKING already charged me $ when I booked in March. A dollar auto was placed on my bank account . Asked if that was be placed back since I already paid. Her reply was NO, why would you get that back? She then tried to explain “if you buy a house”.
The location was great. Room was nice.

United States of America“Dennis tower, older”It took 4 visits (pmpm) to the front desk to get towels. 2 super nice ladies and 1 lady who got super mad that I asked for towels again. She made up a story about I gave the wrong room number the 1st 3 times I came to the desk, I asked her to get the paper that had my info on it, but she didn't. Room stays warm. The phone on the wall next to the toilet is weird.
The room was big. The bed was nice. Middle of the boardwalk. The refrigerator worked great.

United States of America“Great location, beautiful rooms in the Bally’s Tower, but service is not what it used to be.”Housekeeping did not clean my room, not enough pillows, front desk staff nor super friendly. I called front desk from the room…never answered the phone. I had to go back downstairs to request additional towels and washcloths. After waiting hrs I had to call using my cell phone and finally got patched right through!

United States of America“Run down expensive place to stay on the Boardwalk”Not enough towels in the room for the three adults. The parking garage was expensive and too small for my pickup truck. I ended up parking at a nearby parking garage, which was also expensive and was large enough for my pickup truck. Could hear people talking in the adjacent rooms. The wallpaper in the bathroom was detaching from the wall.
Location was within walking distance to the concert we attended.
