I booked a superior room at a discounted rate in agoda. I got a one bed-room, but it is big enough to accommodate three persons. The hotel is around mins away from the airport. The hotel staff were courteous from check-in to check-out. The facilities were superb and comparable to other 5-star hotels in the world. The security in the hotel is tight - hotel staff would check the bags before guests are allowed entry to the hotel and frisk them after passing through the metal detector. K-9 dogs are stationed beside the metal detector. The hotel is near the baywalk area and is facing the famous Manila Bay. It is also near Robinsons Place Manila (where you can shop, dine, watch movies, among other things) and the red light district of Ermita. Also, if you need to go somewhere, you can easily get a taxi outside the hotel. Roman Catholics need not worry of missing their Sunday masses since the hotel is also near Ermita and Malate Churches. I will definitely stay again here given a chance. Good job to the hotel management and staff. Keep up the good work.

hotel is not too far from airport, and is located centrally in malate area. it has up to 5 star level interior and luxury. rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. it's good that hotel provides free in room internet and wifi. the degree top floor restaurant has very good view of the city and manila bay. a great place to have breakfast and meal. there are a few smaller snake house and coffee place adjacent to the ground floor lobby, offering convenient f&b at affordable prices. from there, one can access to a small casino on level 2.

we found exactly what we were looking for: a modest hotel with clean, newly renovated rooms at an affordable rate (breakfast included) and in a good location. breakfast was decent - choice of continental, american, filipino or 1-egg omelette breakfast w/ complimentary juice and coffee/tea. as for location, the hotel is literally right across the street from the casino, around the corner from robinsons shopping mall and a couple blocks from the malate waterfront and historical attractions. we stayed at the hyatt one day prior, so of course it cannot compare, but i’d definitely recommend it as one of the best hotels in its class rating.

I really enjoyed this hotel. It was clean and great staff. I didnt like the small pillows in the rooms and the noise from the doors slamming in the hall ways. They doors woke me each morning about 8am. Not sure if it was cleaning crews, or guest leaving and slamming the doors. For a budget hotel, the rooms were small but larger than others for the same price. There was no breakfast included with the price, but a restaurant next door that served breakfast. The hotel gives you 20% discount coupon for lunch or dinner only, not for breakfast. The hotel is 3 blocks from the Hyatt Hotel and Casino Filipino, and 4 blocks from Robinson's Mall Malate, which we enjoy. It is however right in the same blocks as KTV venues with lots of Bar Girls, street hustlers and beggars. The hotel is safe, and has guards and security and you must use your room key to access the elevators. The Doors do not always work with their weird key system, but, I would stay there again in the future. I recommend the Spa next door, my wife and I went 2 times.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days before going back home. If you have children make sure get the more expensive euro suite, which is larger and have 2 beds. The other rooms are smaller and they are ok for couple or single. Many rooms here don't have a window so if you really want to have a room with window better make sure before booking. If you don't know Manila too good then this is a good place to be as the big Robinson mall is right across the street, where you can find almost everything you need, many restaurants, retail stores and big grocery store. There is a Casino down Pedro Gill about 3 min walk, inside Hyatt hotel. You can catch a taxi right in front of hotel, just make sure the taxi has a working meter. In other areas of Manila many taxis will try to give you a higher price for your destination, but that is wrong. The hotel also has a shuttle van for the airport, which cost pesos, which I recommend warmly. Staff is polite and friendly.

This was my first time to book a hotel room in the heart of Malate. I looked for one that is affordable (since it's just a 1-night stay and all I really needed was a dress-up room for a wedding that I attended the following day) but had good reviews. Plus, one of my most basic requirements/ expectations is a CLEAN ROOM - with clean beddings and clean bathroom. And, Amelie Hotel Manila definitely delivered these. The only down-sides: The coarse (not fluffy) towels and the loud music from a nearby hotel that seeped through the windows. But, given that I stayed solo and didn't want "eerie" silence throughout the night, I consider it as a minor concern. =)

pros: the hotel was fairly easy to find, especially since it's just along the storied adriatico st. in malate, which also wasn't as bad as i'd expected. ermita is a constantly evolving place, no wonder one finds all sorts of travelers, regulars and locals on adriatico st. there are historic sites nearby and the hotel isn't that far from manila's more touristy attractions. since i'm into street food/hole-in-the-wall establishments, there are a few delightful spots that might surprise you if you looked hard enough. the courteous woman at the front desk accommodated my early check-in, but i had to wait a reasonable 30 minutes because the room had to be cleaned. so, i headed straight to the shawarma snack center, which serves middle eastern food. great food. when i returned, the room was ready and for the price i paid, i was happy with it. the hallway ceiling was being renovated, but it didn't bother anyone. as for the malate area, i didn't feel threatened walking along the hotel area at 3 a.m., but that's because i'm a local and nobody bothered haranguing me. still, if one keeps a low profile and just not do anything stupid, the malate area would be an interesting place to stay in for 2 to 3 days. anyway, if things get ugly, there's a police station nearby. too bad i only had an overnight stay, so i wasn't able to sample several stalls, like the one that sold ramen in a watering hole for backpackers. cons: while walking the stretch of adriatico st. looking for the hotel that morning, i couldn't help but feel disgusted with the stink of urine, and on a couple of instances, the sight of feces on the sidewalk. there were vagrants in every corner. this is a serious problem that the district and city officials must address.

okay so we all know ermita/malate is a sleazy and dodgy area with an army of child-beggars and homeless people camping on the streets at night, but as there is all the infrastructure a traveler needs, most people still decide to stay here. hotel located a stone-throw away from robinson's ermita mall, the centrepoint of the area. rooms have been recently renovated and are in good condition. street noise is bearable (if u need complete silence, u better stay away from ermita/malate). free wifi comes in handy, speed acceptable. staff very friendly, and the manager was around and asking guests (me included) if everything was okay (which i could confirm - to the manager's delight - was the case). my room did not include bf, so can not comment on the quality of food there. i have been staying at many different places in malate/ermita over the years, and this one must have been the best value for money i had. definitely recommended and i wonder why it is not always fully booked.

a new hotel which is not yet fully operational as the bar & restaurant on the top floor are not yet open. hotel is in a quiet part of malate (not a main street) and hence there is little noise at night. detraction from this is that there are no nearby restaurants (for foreigners) in walking distance. regrettably the hotel's dinner menu is the same as lunch menu and is therefore limited and more akin to a snack menu. this is reflected in the poor patronage of the current restaurant of an evening. further no alcohol is available with meals. buffet breakfast is limited compared to other 4 star hotels but is of good quality. staff are well presented and friendly but some have difficulty with english. amenities include a gym & pool. after making initial booking to test the hotel we decided to extend for one further week, but according to the agoda and hotel websites they were fully booked out. upon checking out we were advised rooms were still available however had already made other arrangements. room tariff which included buffet breakfast was very cheap for quality of facility.

Dear fellow Readers This is my first time staying at this lovely, clean, safe, friendly hotel. For the price and position in Malate, Manila its worth trying and see for yourself. As this hotel was a great experience I will be back at this hotel with pleasure, the hotel is close to Robinsons Mall Malate, Ninoy International Airport, and all restaurants and cafes in the area. We are happy to stay in Traders Hotel. I have booked here 3 times as this hotel is very close to the airport and good for my 8 year old son. Just across the road, there is Star City which I took my friends and relatives for a rides. The Breakfast is great, got a nice Filipino breakfast. But they catering more on Korean cuisines. And its just a few minutes driving is the Airport! If you love shopping's then this hotel is really close to Mall Of Asia, the biggest shopping mall in thisisnl.nl you Traders I will see you again.

one of the best deals ever. i was so glad i found this place. the previous night i was in a horrible location outside robinson galleria, malate. it was so refreshing to move to a quiet location and into a very charming hotel. the room was a real suite with an entry/living room leading to a separate bedroom and bathroom. the staff was very accommodating and they have a free shuttle to the mall of asia.

My second time here and this is an older but quaint hotel in the heart of Malate and is very well run by the competent staff and management. Security is high priority and guests can feel safe if you are concerned. The hotel is quite comfortable but ageing, so don't expect the Hyatt here. It is a good price/value for money. A few minutes stroll to the modern Robinsons Mall for any shopping you need and 5 mins to Manila Bay and the bay walk. Plenty of nightlife with bars and dancing clubs, this area is not rough and I have no problems nor fear of roaming around at night (I'm 57). Touts and beggars can be a problem but most just leave you alone after a few days, some just like a chat and are very friendly and will help you find your way around.

All my requests prior to my check in were granted. Much appreciated was the quick and easy check in. I even paid my deposit in cash half of the usual deposit. Check in personnel were very nice, served with a smile and considerate. The hotel is located at the heart of Malate, easy access to shops, malls and public transports. To those who loves casinos, a PAGCOR casino is just accross the hotel's entrance. Safety and security is palpable, safety boxes are available in the hotel's reception desk. Luggage storage was free. Very affordable nightly rates, deluxe room is quite big for the nightly rates compared to other hotels I've stayed in Malate area. Wi-fi internet is available for a cheap fee. Each room has its own AC box. They have their own small restaurant too, menu is not that exceptional though. In summary, on my next trip to Manila, I will definitely stay in this hotel again and would most likely recommend this to my family and friends.

its located along the service road of Roxas Blvd., near the mall of asia, robinson mall malate, sofitel, Phil gen hospital,US embassy, luneta park, ocean park, malate church, surrounded by many famous restaurants including a famous Chinese restaurant on their ground floor. The building is not new, you see wood tiles as their floor tiles, its room facilities are good including the Wifi signal. overall i would be happy to stay here with family or group.

This hotel on Adriatico Street Malate is worth more stars than its given, particularly if you also get it at a bargain price from Agoda. It unfortunaly is often booked out and there is every reason why it should be. Spacious rooms with enourmous bed, excellent room service and free wifi. One block away from Robinson's Mall and a block from Cafe Adriatico, a Manila institution. Just around the corner from Tai Yuan Chinese restaurant, the best I have found so far, good barber and money changer opposite. The area is full of good eateries and close enought to Manila Bay to benefit from the cooling effect of the sea. Good place to stay and still be in the rough and tumble of Manila life. I would rather not review this hotel as I prefer there to be last minute rooms available.

Our stay was great! The place is well thought off. Very clean and spacious. Breakfast was also good. You can choose between American or Filipino meals. They are a bit strict with extra heads either you have to pay for the extra head with or without extra bed. The manager or owner (guy) was very accomodating and waived the payment for our 1 extra head. Agoda on the other hand was misleading. I was sure to book with breakfast but arrived there being told we dont. We shelled out a few more money for the extra charges.

Second time stayed at Palm plaza, still my fav hotel in malate, location wise and the room size, ( mine is double superior room on 8th floor) , I would like to thank the receptionist letting me to late check out at 3pm without extra cost, ( selamat pó) :) like the bath room, shower area has a deep base, so no water splash every where while u having a shower,water pressure isn't great but it's ok , plentiful of power points in room to recharge Ur gadget, good city view, BUT!!! It gets really noisy between 12am to 3am, loud music from pubs and night clubs around the area, light sleeper should ask for room behind but no view though , Few things has improved since my last stay, 1st is unlimited free wifi internet in the lobby, ( used to be only free for 1 hour) hopefully in the future, we will get free in room wifi, free in room wifi is my 3rd most important thing I look for when I book my hotel!! 2nd is the all u can eat buffet breakfast ( peso),it's not the best but some day they have really good food, you can check the food first. :) Agoda is still the cheapest online website to book hotel in Asia and their response for booking error is really fast, GREAT JOBS :)

during our stay in the philippines of more than two months, we keep on coming back to this hotgel when we return to manila from the provinces. great location in malate, walking distance to manila bay or a short cab or tricycle ride. oasis of calm in frenetic manila. an the swimming pool is also now operational. everything works, excellent wifi plus hard wired internet connections. excellent views of manila malate area. views best from 12th floor; some views from 11th floor are only partial because of trellis and aircon units (which however are not noise-intrusive). free calls from lobby phone. firsst class restaurant on roof.
