Our evening at Zagreb's Diamond Palace Casino, despite high expectations, was marked by a series of disappointments that need special attention. The casino's prime location in the heart of the city, along with its 24-hour operation, is a convenience. However, it's crucial to note that the only accepted currency is the Euro, and the dress code leans toward the casual side. We initiated our night by joining the Roulette tables, and it's here that our first major disappointment surfaced. We were disheartened to find only one table open, already packed with approximately 10 patrons. In our quest for a more comfortable gaming experience, we asked for an additional table. To their credit, the staff complied with our request. Nonetheless, a significant issue arose when an altercation unfolded between a disgruntled guest and the dealer, requiring the manager's intervention. The handling of this incident left much to be desired, as it impacted the overall atmosphere. It's worth noting that despite this disruption, the dealer did extend an apology for the inconvenience, which was a silver lining. As we continued our gaming adventure, my attempt to order a simple soft drink led to an unpleasant encounter. I was rather impolitely instructed to find the waiter myself. This was disheartening, as it seemed to run counter to the standards of customer service one might expect in such an establishment. This service anomaly was compounded by our experience at the cashier's desk. Upon cashing out, I received a curious mix of 50-Euro notes, 20s, and 10s, which was puzzling and detracted from the overall experience. My background as someone who has visited a multitude of casinos worldwide, including those in Croatia, heightened my disappointment. I had anticipated a higher level of professionalism and customer focus. Regrettably, our visit left my partner visibly upset and myself disappointed. My sincere hope is that the casino takes these specific issues to heart and actively addresses them to enhance the experience for future patrons. However, it's with a heavy heart that I share that, based on our experience, we do not intend to return to Diamond Palace Casino. We believe there is great potential for this establishment to live up to its reputation, and we hope it takes the necessary steps to do so in the future.
