Polo Ralph Lauren Is Bringing the Iconic Casino Shirt Back From the '90s

Let's start with an extended metaphor, because we all know that there's nothing quite as fun as drawn-out, figurative flights of fancy. When it comes to predicting the whims of shoppers, fashion is basically gambling. In Vegas, you step up to the table, throw the dice, and hope they land in your favor. In the fashion capitals of the world, you design something that's not going to actually be available for purchase until about six months later, you eventually put it out in the world, and you hope people buy it when it hits shelves. There are no guarantees, but you just might hit big. See? Gambling!

It is in the spirit of this metaphor, I presume, that the designers at Polo Ralph Lauren created the Casino Shirt in the '90s. The OG version of the silky, camp-collar top was adorned with an all-over graphic of a roulette wheel and table (complete with chips!) on a bold, red base. It's since become a collector's item, a snapshot of the '90s vibes beloved by Polo fans the world over. And now, for 2020, it's coming back in a big way.

Hairstyle, Arm, Organ, Human, Fun, Cool, Sitting, Pattern, Ear,

Today, Polo is launching the Casino Collection, a lineup of three shirts and three pairs of matching shorts for men, plus a bomber and a skirt for women. The printed rayon shirts and shorts (both priced at $168) come in the OG red colorway, plus new green and blue versions. They've got all that '90s drip, and because everything old is new again, that's exactly why they feel so right for right now.

The entire limited-edition capsule drops on February 13 at 10 a.m. EST, and you can be sure it'll sell out quickly. To get your hands on the goods, you'll either need to get the Polo app, visit select Ralph and Opening Ceremony stores, or head over to OC's website. Whatever path you choose, good luck. Spin that wheel and bet it all on red (or green, or blue), and then cross your fingers. Remember: gambling!
