Sunborn Gibraltar is the inception of a surge of super yacht hotels. It already has a sister yacht in London near the ExCel and plans are well under way for chains to spring up in Barcelona, North America, South-East Asia, the Middle East and Russia.

A rise in so-called ‘yotels’ would be more than welcomed, if Sunborn Gibraltar is the blueprint for future vessels.

The majority of rooms have a private balcony or terrace area, are fitted with glistening minibars, a spacious bathroom area and – more importantly – have 24 hour room service. Steak at 3.41am? Not a problem.

And if you some how get itchy feet on board the mammoth boat, there’s a plethora of activities to do on land. Off-road safaris, wine tasting at a vineyard and golf a one of Spain’s top courses – all can be arranged by the concierge who’ll sort out a private jet, helicopter or car (if you’re a peasant).

If all this wasn’t enough, Sunborn Gibraltar is now home to the world’s first super yacht casino.

The state-of-the-art slots, table games and VIP suites – available every day until 4am – opened last month and is already attracting big bawlers from around the world.

It’s official opening coincided with the exciting launch of popular leisure brand La Sala – similar to Nikki Beach and Ocean Beach club. You know, the sorts of awesome places frequented by celebs where champagne spraying is accepted, nay, encouraged.
