  • WHAT SETS DIVI DIVE BONAIRE APART FROM THE REST?

  • IS THERE DIVING IN FRONT OF THE RESORT?

Yes. The dive docks located on our beach extend out almost 30 yards to the famous Calabas reef. Tanks are available on these docks 24 hours a day for shore divers.

  • WHAT IS YOUR DIVE DOCK LIKE?

Strap on your gear using our custom designed diving benches, then step off into 12’ of crystal clear blue water. The reef quickly drops down to 12’ right in front of the dock. The Calabas Reef is an unspoiled beauty, featuring a wide variety of tube sponges, parrot fish, trumpet fish and anemones.

  • DO YOU HAVE STORAGE LOCKERS FOR DIVERS?

Yes. We are proud to offer private lockers with wetsuit hangers and plenty of room to store all of your diving gear, so you can access your equipment 24 hours a day! We recommend that you bring your own padlock.

  • WHAT'S NIGHT DIVING LIKE?

Magical and perfectly safe for experienced divers. Thrill-seekers can dive under the stars right off our docks to swim alongside exotic marine life like octopus, tarpon and brightly colored coral reefs.

  • HOW MANY DIVE BOATS DO YOU HAVE?

Our dive shop has a fleet of five boats, ranging in size from 35’ to 42’ long. Each boat features plenty of shade, ice water, fresh fruit and safety equipment. The tanks are placed in tank holders behind the seats, so putting your gear on is a breeze.

  • HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR A BOAT DIVE?

We have a sign-up board that displays all boat trips, so you can simply choose the boat and destination of your choice.

  • DO YOU GO TO DIFFERENT DIVE SITES EACH DAY?

Absolutely. There are so many spectacular dive spots on Bonaire, so we make an effort to visit them all, including Red Slave on the south side of the island and Rappel on the north side. We also visit the island of Klein Bonaire almost every day. If you have a specific site request, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET TO THE DIVE SITES?

It takes about minutes to reach most dive sites. If you are staying at Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino, the world-famous Calabas Reef is just steps from your room.

  • ARE THERE LOTS OF BOATS AT EACH DIVE SITE?

No. Only one boat per dive site is allowed for safety reasons, and to ensure you have plenty of room to explore.

  • DO YOU RUN 2-TANK BOAT TRIPS?

Absolutely! We run a variety of boat trips every day, including single and 2-tank morning trips and single tank afternoon trips.

  • ARE THE DIVE BOATS CROWDED?

Per social distancing requirements, the maximum number of guests on a boat will be limited to

  • WHAT ARE YOUR BOAT DIVE PROFILES?

For our  2-tank morning boat dive trips, we recommend minute bottom times and an average recommended depth of 50&#;&#;. A surface interval of minutes is normal. For the afternoon single boat dive trips, we recommend a similar depth and about an hour bottom time.

  • IS THERE A DIVEMASTER ON BOARD?

Yes. Every dive boat has both a captain and a divemaster. The divemaster will be in the water and will dive with you if you wish. If you want to dive independently with a friend, that&#;s OK, too, as long as you follow the divemaster&#;s direction and depth recommendation.

  • DO YOU HAVE A BACK ROLL OFF THE DIVE BOATS?

No. All of our boats feature wide swim platforms, which make it easy to enter and exit the boat. For our more macho divers, back rolls are possible off the sides of the boat!

  • WHAT IS A TYPICAL BOAT DIVE LIKE?

Our dive boats typically sit in 25’ of water, close to shore, with the drop off right behind the boat. When you reach your destination, you will drop down below the boat and follow our divemaster. Dive down to the recommended depth and enjoy exploring Bonaire&#;s pristine coral reefs. Halfway through your air time or bottom time, or when the divemaster signals it&#;s time to return, you will turn around and head back toward the boat, ascending throughout the dive. You&#;ll then spend the last few minutes at the 10&#;&#; range checking out the vibrant reef and colorful fish and completing a safety stop.

  • WILL STAFF MEMBERS HELP ME WITH MY GEAR?

Divi has always promoted divers to be self-reliant when setting up or tearing down their dive gear, to maintain dive skills. However, due to COVID concerns, any guest requiring assistance with gear or getting into or out of the water, should have a designated “dive buddy.”

  • IS RENTAL GEAR AVAILABLE?

Due to COVID concerns our policy has changed and we do encourage you to bring your own dive gear.

    • Rental Equipment will be disinfected by trained Staff members with industry-appropriate disinfectants and placed in sealed bags.

The first morning of diving is the marine park orientation and shore check-out dive & normally you have a 1-tk afternoon boat dive and then 5 days of 2-tk morning boat dives.  Due to  the coral disease that is currently affecting Bonaire, if this is still the case when you travel, you will receive 1 day shore only, 1 day 3-tk( 2 morning & 1 afternoon boat) and 4 days 2-tk morning boat, you will still get 11 boat dives.
