NEWPORT BEACH, CA – From the streets of New York City to the clubs of Miami and everywhere in between, the game of dominoes has long served as a universal language that cuts across all regional and international demographics, providing the type of competition that has never grown old.

But who is the best domino player on the planet? Who has taken this game to new levels as it not only maintains its hold on existing players but brings in legions of new competitors that have made this the fastest growing sport in the world?

In , the inaugural World Series of Dominoes will find out.

Starting with eight regional tournaments, the best of the best will battle it out until the top players make their way to the dominoes capital of the world in Las Vegas for a showdown that will garner the winner a $50, grand prize and recognition as the World Series of Dominoes champion.

“The reach of this sport is growing, it’s bringing in a younger demographic to go along with the veterans who have been playing for years, and the time is right to take dominoes to a new level,” said hall of fame promoter Roy Englebrecht. “Our mission is to bring the game of dominoes to the forefront like the NBA,NFL, UFC and the World Series of Poker.”

It all starts with the regional tournaments, which will take place at locations to be announced in Miami, Atlantic City, Chicago, Kansas City, Dallas, Seattle, Denver, and Southern California. Each of the eight regionals will pay out $25,, with the winner receiving $5, cash, while cash payouts will be distributed to the first 32 finishers.

Then it’s off to Las Vegas, where the World Series of Dominoes winner will receive $50, cash. There will also be cash payouts for the first 72 finishers, making it a total of $, in cash prize money in Las Vegas, and $, spread over the eight regionals and the World Series championship.

That’s a big deal for a sport that’s only getting bigger. Currently sporting over , members, the Las Vegas-based World Series of Dominoes has hosted over tournaments since its inception in , and while the organization has created a platform for its players to test themselves in a safe and fun environment, along the way, it has become a spectator sport drawing in new fans every day to watch local tournaments as well as follow the action on social media platforms.
