Dragon money casino

I know alot of people try to find patterns or easy ways to make money, so thought I'd compile some of my observations up to now, my own progression on casino playing.

First of all, only played in Port Haven yet, and 100 tokens start up.

Following Ignasia's guide, I started with Poker. It took 2 full rounds of coins to realize it's not going anywhere. The Double-Up is crap, I remember playing alot of DQ4's casino with the same double-up, but there's something odd in this one. Maybe it's the overall speed, but also the fact that DQ4 NES had winners on a pair of Jack or better. 2 pairs or 3-of-a-kind minimum doesn't make it easy to win to start with, and Double-Up works against us most of the time.

So I fell back on the slots. I took a pot shot at the 10-coin reel, of course 90 out of 100 I didn't play long. So I went back for single token play instead. 5 tokens for the full set, 20 plays. It seems the slot on the left has lower payouts more often. The reels on the right yielded only a single 50 token prize out of 50 plays. I do suggest playing the left one, maybe it was just me, but I was winning low payouts more often, and eventually hit a good amount.

With 300 coins, I figured I'd switch to 10 token slots. Now here's where I differ with Ignasia. I suggest moving on to bigger slots sooner, even if I have to reload more often. The reason is that you don't have to bet the full field, you can bet one on each, for 30 tokens total. At 300 coins, you get to try 10 times, which is fair. When you reach around 1000, you can move up to 90 tokens total, so you get 10 plays out of it still.

That's what I base myself on. When you got close to 10 plays of a certain bet range, do it, the payout is better. The 100 and 10 token reels are pretty much the same, and feels alot more lucky than the 1-token reel. So instead of betting 90 for longer, you can move up to 300 tokens (1 of each), until you have enough to bet 900 each time.

Basically, see it like this :

5 Bet : 0-300 tokens
30 Bet : 300+ Tokens
60 Bet : 600+ Tokens
90 Bet : 900+ Tokens
300 Bet : 3000+ Tokens
600 Bet : 6000+ Tokens
900 Bet : 9000+ Tokens

Personally I switched to 300 bets at 2000 tokens or so, I didn't mind reloading every 6-7 plays (if I lost all of them of course). I also played the 10-token reel on the left, didn't try the right one at all.

Just my suggestions on how to play the casino. On the way home (bus ride), I hit a 5-grape on 3x100 tokens bet, so I went from 2000 at last save to 10000. Whatever you do, have patience!

Heh, nice one Franck.

My initial run in the game was purely with slots, and I was pretty successful going from 1-token to 10-token. Only 3 restarts, 15-20 minutes and I was at 30k. Then I played 100-token and net 600k while watching a movie, not sure what I won. Net another 150k while paying attention.

However, I decided to play poker after that, and I seemed to do quite well with Double or Nothing and won my first 1k in poker in half the time it took to win in slots So I figured poker would be the better game to start with. That said, reading the experience of everyone else, that concept was dead wrong. So I'm changing it back to my initial startup.

Still I would recommend going to 1k and higher. That said, mind if I put your suggestion into my FAQ?

honestly I recommend going to the 10 token slots asap

I'd say get 180 coins and go for it

one win on those is better than playing the 1 token slot for 5 times as long...

once you can do a full 300 (to 900) go to the 100 coin slot and just go from there

as far as casinos go

100 coin slots
Port casino = lower wins that tend to keep you stable over a long run, so you slowly climb up money... You can go awol on this one and probably end up ahead without paying attention

Thieves town casino = mid way between the two... better odds to hit watermelons than previous, better odds on blueberries than previous, due to number and placement of these on the wheel... overtime you are likely to lose but slowly, until you hit a big win and jump ahead quickly... you can't really go awol long...

Greed casino = bad odds on low payouts, best odds on watermelons (100-1000) payouts, worse odds on blueberries than the one before... slightly better lineup of bells than the other two

What to note

7's and Bar's are the same on all of them for odds... that being said I hit 7's far more than bars...
Bells are basically the same, the difference here doesn't matter
Watermelons are the best on greed

which means that the FASTEST payout over time is the greed casino... but also requires the most resets as you can go a while before winning

IMO

Greed > Port = or > Thieves

Crimson, mind if I put in your suggestion as well?

fire away, at one time I had a lot of faqs myself, took them down as I had a disagreement with how things happen here... if others want to put up with it by all means please do

How things happen here? Hmm, do you mind elaborating?

I started with poker, for whatever reason, it is awful. I've never gotten past level 3 I think and I must have done it at least 30 times. In the other games, I get a few at really high levels, but not here. I guess I must wait for the 3rd casino for the high/low which will probably be easier as long as a tie doesn't make you lose like it used to.

Perhaps it's just my experience though, but going over your suggestion Crimson, I haven't had that kind of luck with Melons, after nearly 15 straight hours. While I did see more consistent sets of 3 melons, I almost never saw 4 and 5's in the 100-Token slots.

Though this is the nature of the RNG, it's hard to say, given the timing breaks between wins and between rerolls, what trigger points on the DS seconds clock are the best to land to increase winnings. Just that my experience has it Port = Turn > Greed.

Have to love how that works out :/

Fun thing with random odds is that yeah everyone will have different experiences with them... usually they hate me

I was bored so I wrote the lists down on the 100 token things and then ran some quick math based on number of each one for each thing to figure out which I was best using

Cherry
Bell
Bell
Bar
Blueberry
etc, for all 5 columns and then for the other two casinos

(I spent over a 1.5 mil so I had time to kill as it rolled)

:P also sent you an email explaining that other thing
