In clear sound at home I was able to appreciate the finesse and clarity in the 3 positions.
It can be soft or percussive. In repeats and crunch it is the grainy sound which is very responsive to the attack.
I wired the tone knobs in "low cut", roughly speaking I added a variable resistance in series before the volume knob and in parallel a capa of pF: this allows me to have a superb clean. I used it almost throughout my 2 rehearsals with my "regular" group and yesterday with my "school dads" cover group and it hit the mark in both cases.
