The Epiphone ETD Casino is a hollowbody archtop electric guitar. Introduced in , it is the Epiphone equivalent of the Gibson ESTD. The Casino was redesigned slightly over its production run. Like other Gibson-produced thinline, dual-cutaway models, the Casino's body shape was adjusted over time.
While a trapeze tailpiece is standard on the Casino, tremolo options were offered with the Epiphone Tremotone or Bigsby tailpieces. The Epiphone Frequensator, typically included on the Riviera or Sheraton models, occasionally appears on the Casino, particularly lates examples.
[]
Upon its introduction, the Casino featured dot fretboard inlays, black plastic-covered P pickups, a tortoiseshell pickguard, and a sloped dovewing headstock with Kluson Deluxe tuning machines with ivory buttons. Early examples included a brass headstock badge before being replaced with a silkscreen logo. The tortoiseshell pickguard was also replaced with a multi-ply white version.
[]
In , the Casino was redesigned. By the end of the year, it featured nickel-covered P pickups, an inlaid Epiphone logo on the headstock, and reverse parallelogram fretboard inlays.
[]
In , along with most other Epiphone models, the Casino received the "hourglass" headstock that was in use for the remainder of the decade. In mid, nickel hardware was replaced with chrome and the nut was reduced in width, as with all other Gibson-produced models.
ET[]
The ET Casino features the same construction as the ETD, but has only one P pickup in the center position.

Shipping Records[]
Epiphone shipping records from the period are believed to be largely accurate in regards to total units shipped, but are often incomplete or missing details when referring to specific models in specific years. Until , Epiphone records do not differentiate between between finish options. Beginning in , ETD(V) models with no color indication refer to the Shaded finish. Single-pickup models never indicate finish. Vibrato-equipped models (ETV and ETDV) do not differentiate between Epiphone Tremotone and Bigsby vibratos.
