Full house for WPT Korea Day 1A

The WPT Korea Main Event action is in full swing at Landing Casino, Jeju Shinhwa World,South Korea, celebrating a full house right on its opening flight. The first Day 1 on schedule racked up a staggering entries and saw 84 runners qualify to Day 2 following eleven hours of play. China&#;sLin Yan dominated the field and bagged an astonishing , ( big blind) stack through to the next round. Two more starting flights remain on schedule with Day 1B set to hit the felt this afternoon, March 29th.

Running on today’s lineup are side events Pot Limit Omaha, Limit Triple, and a concluding Hyper Turbo Bounty NLH to cap the day. Day 1 of the NLH Deepstack will run alongside the festivities with the champion deemed to receive a WPT Korea Ring in addition.

Lin Yan bags the lead in WPT Korea Championship Event Day 1A

The highly anticipated KR₩ 2,,, (~US$ 1,,) guaranteed WPT Korea Championship Event has finally landed on the felt with the first flight on schedule drawing in a huge crowd early in the day. Eight levels of registration concluded with a tremendous turnout of entries and wrapped up the night with only 84 survivors going through to Day 2. Poker icons Phil Ivey and Stephen O’Dwyer graced the felt once more but failed to find a bag by the end of Level

The flight ended with China’s Lin Yan topping the field, taking with him a massive , chip count ( BB) through to the next round. Lin was amongst the top counts by the time registration closed and soared to the lead after scooping up Zhang Jiintao&#;s entire stack late in the day. Lin wielded his big stack with aggression and managed to maintain his advantage over the field all the way. Also making it through are several decorated pros including WSOP Main Event champion Espen Jorstad, bracelet winner Renji Mao, and APPT Cambodia Main Event winner Chao Ting Cheng. Asian crushers Yen Han ‘Pete’ Chen, Chih Wei Fan, Peng Sen Wu, Jinwoo Kim, along with CTP owner Hsing Hsiung Tai, join the list and are set to return to the felt on Sunday, March 31st for the Day 2 games.

WPT Rings to be awarded at WPT Korea

Players looking to bag a healthier stack are welcome to jump in on the remaining flights with the Best Stack Forward format in place. Multiple entries are allowed per qualifier, setting players back KR₩ 2,, (~US$ 2,) for each entry. Tournament runners begin with a starting stack of 50,, equivalent to times the opening blinds and will course through 60 minute blind levels all the way down to the Final Day. Along with the top payout, the last man standing is geared to receive the highly coveted WPT Korea Main Event Trophy and the region’s inaugural WPT Main Event Ring.
