Laughlin avi casino koa journey

Laughlin avi casino koa journey

{H1}

Laughlin, Nevada is 90 miles south of Las Vegas, but if you&#;re looking for something milder while still waltzing with Lady Luck, then Laughlin just might be the winning ticket. The Avi Casino Journey KOA is conveniently across the road from Avi Casino and just eleven miles from downtown Laughlin&#;s riverfront casinos.

Avi Casino sits near the banks of the Colorado River, popularly referred to as &#;The River.&#; Water sport activities abound on the 1, miles long Colorado River like boating, white water rafting, kayaking and jet skiing but is also a water workhorse for seven western states and two Mexican states, supplying drinking water to over 40 million people. We found the campground to be a good launching point for exploring the historic Fort Mojave military site across the river in Arizona. We&#;ll save that tale for another day.

The Fort Mojave Indian Tribe is a sovereign tribal nation located in the tri-state area. Mojave Indians are Pipa Aha Macav — “The People by the River.” Mojave culture traces the earthly origins of its people to Spirit Mountain, the highest peak in the Newberry Mountains, located northwest of the present reservation inside the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Tribal headquarters are located in Needles, California.

KOA Journey guests are entitled to all of the Avi Resort and Casino&#;s amenities, including the giant Vegas-style casino, shuttle bus, private beach, 9,square-foot lagoon pool, boat launch and fitness center.

Avi Casino KOA Journey offers campsites, all with full hook-ups. Each KOA guest receives a wrist band valued at $10 dollars each to enter Avi Casino&#;s immense pool area and sandy beach. Other on-site amenities include free Wi-Fi and cable, hot showers, coin-operated laundry room, covered picnic area with barbecue pits, playground and fenced dog-runs.

Mojave Resort Golf Club is a championship resort course with wide fairways and four sets of tees. Since we camped next to the golf course we enjoyed views of the pond, ducks and golf carts.

We enjoyed an evening stroll at Avi Casino&#;s beach on the Colorado River all by ourselves. This is the closest John gets to wearing a bikini.

Our hats off to this maintenance dynamo who worked hard adding sparkle to the campground. Please be aware the average temperature in Laughlin is in the triple digits from June through September. We laughed at some reviews that complained about the intense heat. Welcome to the desert, folks.

This was the view from our bedroom window at sunrise. We had been treated to a free fireworks show at the casino the night before, but nothing compares to the raw beauty of nature, no matter where you are.

Like most RV parks, the sites are cozy but we had ample space to park our 28 foot Class A and utilize our slide outs on our rig. We parked our toad in front of our site but used the larger area at the campground entrance to re-attach the Jeep to our RV.

We found the RV spaces raked and well cared for. Above is an example of vacant space between recreational vehicles. Although we stayed for only two nights, it appeared snowbirds arranged longer accommodations.

Clean restrooms are always an appreciated commodity with campers. I found the women&#;s restroom clean and freshly mopped. The private showers and toilets were in working order. John reported similar conditions in the men&#;s lavatory.

The laundry room was well-appointed with rows of washers and dryers. It looks like you can have it all to yourself depending on the time you go.

If you&#;ve used the laundry facilities lately and missing some of your items, here they are. Apparently this is where embarrassed socks come to die.

Kids and weary grandparents will appreciate the playground.

Fenced horse shoe pits are available for guests. Bring your own horse shoes. We&#;re pretty sure the horse won&#;t mind.

A shaded picnic area with charcoal grills are near the playground, horseshoe pits and dog run, all in a row.

KOA has a few dog park rules. Interesting, because most dogs can&#;t read. Basically, just use common sense and be courteous.

Our two small fuzzies told us they enjoyed the fenced enclosures since it passed their sniff tests and they didn&#;t have to defend their little dog syndrome to bigger dogs. They had the place all to themselves.

You can also walk Fido around the park on leash. You will find convenient poo bags to clean up after your pet throughout the park if you forget to bring your own.

Discover a wide grassy area in the center of the park just right for yoga, Frisbee throwing or touch football, but pets are not allowed.

We show you the stuff other campground reviewers may not, so here&#;s your obligatory dumpster shot. You&#;re welcome.

Please Note: Laughlin Avi Casino KOA does not allow tent camping or pop-up tent trailers that do not have sewer connections. To stay in this campground you have to be fully self-contained (you must be able to hook up to water, electric & sewer.)
