Majestic star casino

Majestic star casino

The commission’s action came one day after the Gary City Council gave its blessing for the casino company to move from Buffington Harbor, where it now operates two Majestic Star casinos, to a site near the Burr Street exit, where it plans to build a new ,square-foot Hard Rock Cafe casino.

Keeler said Spectacle plans to build its new gaming venue in two phases, with the casino and a 2,seat Hard Rock entertainment venue to be built in the first phase and a room hotel and parking garage to be built in a second phase.

I’m a big tables guy so I figured this was noteworthy for the rest of my Casino guys across the Chicagoland area. Sure, Majestic was far and away the biggest piece of shit around, but it’s still noteworthy that the original location is closing up shop.

I’m not kidding when I say how bad it was either.

Majestic Star casino in Gary, Indiana was so so bad. From the stench to the dealers constantly being grouchy it was just no bueno. Horseshoe and Ameristar are infinitely better/closer so this was kind of a no brainer for Majestic. Very intrigued to see what this Hard Rock situation looks like as a brand new facility is the best chance they have to being put back on the map once gambling in Illinois goes legal.

It makes me very sad that Indiana can seemingly get shit like this done with no problem. If it were Illinois it would take 8 fucking years to happen and then when it did nobody would care anymore. There’d be 8 appeals, neighbor complaints, budget issues, greed issues, you name it the whole nine yards.

Here’s a quick Chicagoland area casino ranking. I’d be happier to get deeper into it on a Dog Walk or a blog in the future.

1. Hollywood (Joliet)

2. Horseshoe (Hammond)

3. Rivers (Des Plaines)

4. Ameristar (North Chicago)

5. Harrah’s (Joliet)

6. Hollywood (Aurora)

7. Grand Victoria (Elgin)

8. Majestic (Gary)

If Potawatomi somehow counts then it’s somewhere near the top too.
