NARS Bronzing Collection, from £17, out 1st May exclusively at Cult Beauty

I think we’ve pretty much worked out that we won’t be going anywhere sun-soaked and tropical this summer. It’s almost like Francois Nars – makeup formulator and creator of perhaps the greatest bronzer of all time – knew we’d need a pick-me-up. NARS has already solidified some makeup icons, but perhaps the two most famous are his Orgasm blusher and Laguna bronzer (beloved for its ability to bestow a natural looking bronze without looking muddy or cakey). It’s this last launch that he’s expanded upon with his new sunkissed bronzing collection.

I’m a die-hard Laguna fan and have been since the first time I tried it. While I dip into other great bronzers as part of my job (and there are plenty of other options out there that do a banging job of warming up cheeks), I always end up coming back to Laguna when I can. Pale and interesting might work well on others, but I’m always in the market for looking a bit more bronzed if I can.

THE REVIEW:

When I heard about this collection, I was giddy: more bronzers than you could shake a stick at, for every skin tone, in multiple finishes. Deep breaths, people. This collection comprises 15 different products, four completely new shades, one brand-spankers new formula and a heck-tonne of glow.

First up, is the original Bronzing Powder, released predictably, in it’s best-loved shades Laguna (a diffused brown powder with a golden shimmer) and Casino (a deep brown powder with a golden shimmer). But, to make it available to as many skin tones as possible, two new shades have been added to the line-up: San Juan (a light bronze) and Punta Cana (a rich mahogany). When asked exclusively what the secret behind his bronzer’s success is, Francois told GLAMOUR “All NARS Bronzing Powders make the skin look healthy and glowing. I was very precise with the amount of shimmer I wanted to create an effect that makes you look radiant and natural.” It’s the subtle bit of shimmer that makes this OG bronzer is an everyday favourite for glow-seekers like me who want a touch of radiance to their complexion, so I’m thrilled they’ve democratised their offering by expanding the shade range.
