Playboy Bunnies Bounce Back With London Club

A new Playboy Club is set to return to London 30 years after the original 45 Park Lane venue closed its doors.

Infamous Playboy founder Hugh Hefner has traded in on the brand's enduring success to announce the opening of a decadent club in Mayfair in the first half of

The original venue opened in and immediately became a favourite among the capital's rich and famous, with actors Sean Connery and Michael Caine and sportsmen George Best and Muhammad Ali all frequent visitors.

However, it closed in after gaming licences were revoked.

The new club - which marks Playboy's return to Europe - will emulate the hedonism of the Swinging Sixties with the two-floor space including a restaurant, cocktail bar, members' club and casino with high-limit private gaming rooms.

The traditional Playboy Bunny hostesses, croupiers and cocktail servers will also be part of the new set-up and the company behind the club say they hope it will once again become a celebrity hotspot.

Mr Hefner said: "When we first opened the Playboy Club in London it was one of my favourite times for the brand.

"With Playboy now more popular than ever, I look forward to our return to London and again sharing the notions that are celebrated in the magazine, the concept of good food and drink, pretty girls, and exciting entertainment."

Playboy are also planning to open three other clubs in in Mexico's Cancun, Macau and Miami's South Beach, however it is the return to Europe that has caused the most excitement.

"The heritage of the Playboy brand in the UK together with an attractive Mayfair location and the proven operating skills of London Clubs International will make Playboy's London club one of our most anticipated, must-visit properties," said Scott Flanders, CEO of Playboy Enterprises.

The first Playboy Club opened in Chicago in and at the height of its success the company had 30 venues across the world.
