Dragon Quest XI S: How to Rig the Casino's Roulette Table

Dragon Quest loves a good casino. They have been a staple part of the series almost since inception, and they have always been a great way to waste time and maybe earn your fortune. Like a real casino, in Dragon Quest, the house always wins, so betting your life savings on the chance of a jackpot is usually not the answer to your prayers. That is until you play Dragon Quest 11. Dragon Quest 11 throws all kinds of rules into the air and drops one of the most notoriously difficult side quests in JRPG history on your lap.

If you want to overcome this gambling nightmare, you are going to have to invest a lot of time and money (although mostly time) in order to complete it. The rewards for doing so are often worth it, but you could be in for the long haul - so be prepared. Oh, and if you are against the timeless art of "save-scumming", you should abandon that moral pony for this one. Don't let ethics hold you back - trust us.

Finding The Legendary Quest

First things first, you need to get the quest in question. This is the easiest part of the process, and all you have to do is find the little girl near the entrance to the Octagonia Casino. She will inform you about her desire to own a figurine of Vince, however, Richie is currently in possession of the said figurine, and won't sell it to her (what a villain!). Toddle your way over to Richie in the casino, and he will reject you as well. However, he is willing to hand it over if you are able to land a jackpot at one of the roulette tables.

Here lies the rub. Getting a jackpot at one of the roulette tables is entirely RNG-based, so you could be here for hours. Some people have reported being stuck here for tens of hours, which is mind-boggling. There are ways to reduce that time, although

What Is A Jackpot?

To land a jackpot, a number of highly unlikely occurrences need to, well, occur. Firstly, you need to pick a number. As easy said as it is done. Next, you need the ball to land on your number - this part is much harder to pull off. Finally, all of the above has to happen and the wheel needs to stop with your number and ball directly under the jackpot arrow. This is the truly tricky part, and this is what makes winning the jackpot so difficult. You can't just bet on every number, because, well, the ball still has to end up at the top, and that's really unlikely at the best of times.

How To Get A Jackpot

Traditional wisdom dictates that you should probably talk to one of the Bunny Girls who give vague hints on the likelihood of a jackpot happening. However, from what we can tell, this doesn't actually do anything. The truth of the matter is, this quest is super reliant on RNG, but the RNG in question is not balanced. In fact, it heavily favours two numbers over all others, and those numbers are 12 and 14. All you have to do is bet your chips on these numbers, spin the wheel and see what happens.

Odds are, you will lose. That's just how gambling works. However, there is a disproportionately high chance that you will win with these numbers over any other number. Therefore, buy anywhere between , chips, bet on those numbers, and hope for the best. If things don't go your way, then reload an earlier save and try again (the game autosaves whenever you enter the casino!). Repeat this until you win. How long will it take? Well, how long is a piece of string? Nobody knows for sure, but you will win faster than any other method.

Completing the Quest

Once you have landed that sweet, sweet jackpot, go back to Richie, claim your figurine, head back to the little girl, and enjoy the victory jingle. This was either the easiest quest you have ever done or one of the longest and most nerve-wracking. In either case, you are done, and you have a pocket full of tokens. These can't be translated directly into gold, but they can be exchanged for items. There are a bunch of great items for trade, although we are a big fan of the Gringham Whip for a great weapon, Baumren's Bell for a classic mount, or rare consumables like Pep Pips.

Just because you have won the jackpot once doesn't mean you can't do it again. Therefore, you could consider diving back into the seedy underbelly of the gambling world and try and land more to buy even more cool things. It's entirely up to you.
